It depends on your weekly study hours. At ~12h/week with ~1000 total study hours, Step 1 plus Step 2 CK take roughly 20 months, and ECFMG certification about 23 months.

How much does the USMLE cost for IMGs?

Step exams, MyIntealth, ECFMG certification, credential verification, Pathways and prep materials total roughly $4,000–$4,500. Testing inside the US/Canada avoids about $445 in international surcharges. ERAS/Match adds several thousand more.

How many USMLE attempts are allowed?

Each Step allows up to 4 attempts (reduced from 6 in July 2021). There is no combined lifetime cap across all Steps; the same exam may be taken no more than 3 times within a 12-month period.
